From Seawater to Drinking Water

Filtration is the process of separating one substance from another using a fine mesh called a filter.
We use fresh water for drinking and washing, watering crops, and feeding farm animals.
Drinking seawater puts so much salt into our bodies that it dehydrates us.

A team of researchers has been working on a way to make seawater drinkable, which could help combat worldwide water shortages!
