Rocket Travel
And could we travel the world by rocket?
First up, robot intelligence has advanced quickly in the last few years.
But when it comes to making robots look like us, there’s definitely room for improvement.
Now scientists at Columbia University’s engineering school in the USA have made a breakthrough.
The researchers have created a type of artificial muscle that works a bit like a real muscle.
Our muscles contract, or tighten, and relax to move different parts of our bodies.
The artificial muscle is powered by electricity and contracts and relaxes in a similar way.
With further development, this could be a huge step forward in creating more lifelike robots.
Next up, it’s Animal Watch.
At first glance, you might think these are sheep grazing on a hillside…
But take a closer look. They’re actually polar bears!
More than two hundred of these amazing animals were spotted together on Wrangel Island, a nature reserve in northern Russia.
Wrangel Island, Russia
Wrangel Island has a large population of polar bears.
They normally live alone and don’t hunt in packs, so it’s rare to see lots of them gathered in a group.
Polar bears have a very strong sense of smell, and it seems hundreds of them were attracted to the same spot to feast on a dead whale.
An unexpected sight for the visitors that caught it on camera!
And finally, flying from London to New York in an airplane takes about eight hours.
But how much faster do you think the trip would be in a rocket?
A company called SpaceX says the journey could be done in just 29 minutes!
The company is building a new rocket for space travel, but the inventors believe it could one day be used for traveling between countries.
At the speed this rocket moves, they say you could fly anywhere on Earth in under an hour.
That’s fast!
That’s all for this week – we’ll see you next time!
