There are incredible buildings all over the world.
But humans aren’t the only animals that can build impressive structures.
Meet the beaver.

This busy beaver is making itself a home.
First, it needs to find some wood to use, so it gnaws through trees with its sharp teeth.
Beavers have a lot of iron in their teeth, which stains them orange, but makes them incredibly strong!
The beaver uses this wood, along with rocks and mud, to build a dam.
The dam slows the flow of water in the river and creates a pond, where the beaver can build a safe and warm home called a lodge.
But the beaver’s work isn’t finished yet!
It collects tasty branches to store in the pond, so that it has easy access to food during the winter months.
And if other animals get too close to its underwater snack bar, it uses its flat tail to scare them away!
